Refine your books through His Word

Updated: Jul 1, 2020

Remember Christian, read your “faith-based books” through the lens of the Bible--not the other way around. The Bible is inspired by the Creator Himself. Your “Christian” book was inspired by a well-intentioned believer (at best).

My blog? Just my best thoughts, which may be totally off sometimes.

I’m so grateful for these books and have learned so much from them--but I’m careful to test their input against the Bible. I like the way I heard Pastor Francis Chan describe it, “You can walk into a Christian bookstore and find a book to SUPPORT any sin you want!”

Let’s not do gymnastics with the word of God to get it to reinforce OUR will.

Instead, let’s ask God to refine us NOW, judge us NOW, so that we can remain in the end, when He comes back, not quite as the lamb He was in Bethlehem, but as the Lion.

"but when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord, so that we will not be condemned with the world." 1 Corinthians 11:32

Keep reading and growing and DOING! Just make sure you are in line with scripture as you go.
